About Us
In 2006, Luciente, in association with the Chimayo Valley Boys and Girls Club, established the Boys and Girls Club of Abiquiu. We remained its major funder through 2007 and now provide scholarships for local children to attend both the school year and summer programs held at the Abiquiu Elementary School.
In 2007, Luciente assumed responsibility from the Abiquiu Business League, for the development of the Abiquiu Visitor Guide and the continuation of the Abiquiu Summer Farm Festival. In 2008, Luciente will partner with the Rocky Mountain Youth Corps on a summer conservation program in our area. In January 2009, Luciente will partner with the Ghost Ranch Education and Retreat Center in a service learning collaborative. Luciente is the fiscal sponsor of the Abiquiu, El Rito and Pedernal Studio Tours and has recently been awarded a grant from the New Mexico Community Foundation and the Consortium of Major LANL Subcontractors Regional Development Corporation Fund for a collaborative market project, entitled Village to Village, on their behalf. Luciente is also the fiscal sponsor of the Abiquiu Children’s Art Fund, Harmony Farm Organic Produce and Stability, a therapeutic riding program to benefit local children with special needs. When you're in the area, be sure to visit our shop, inside Bode's Mercantile in Abiquiu. We're open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 to 5, selling wares produced by artisans from our service area. |
